Matrilineal Succession (2023)

Full view of a 36 x 24 inch painting made from three connected canvases. The liquid-like blood red form starts at the bottom left and burgeons to the top right corner. Fabrics, crochet, textile are incorporated slowly and expand out of the frame. Close up of the bottom of the second panel. The red hot glue frays into multicolored red crochet, and this dangles down past the canvas. Close up of the space between two canvases. The hot glue is overlayed in a way that emulates an exaggerated surface tension of blood.
